During the World Meeting of Families, he combined his beautiful voice with that of 38-year-old soprano Celine Byrne to create an emotionally thrilling blend of voices that brought the audience to tears.

Andrea Bocelli had his eyes closed during the majority of the song, overwhelmed by the profound and lovely words of “Ave Maria,” which translates to “Hail, Mary” in English. The song was a worshipful moment, indeed, as Mr. Bocelli once again stirred his audience with a passion-filled performance.

Unlike many modern performers, Bocelli uses little to no studio effects to enhance his performances. His extreme talents when singing on stage make capturing the audience's heart effortless without whistles, bells, and stops.

The Pope, who was in attendance at this concert, was also impressed by the strong performance of Bocelli and Byrne and beamed a smile of approval during the singing of the lovely classical piece of music. When the performance by the duo was completed, Byrne carefully led Bocelli away from the stage.

Ave Maria was composed in 1825 by German classical composer Franz Schubert, who was famous for writing art songs that are still sung in concert to this day. Ave Maria remains a part of a seven-song set that is based on Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake. Not only is Ave Maria one of Schubert’s most famous compositions, but it also remains one of the most famous and popular classical compositions of all times. And who could do the song more justice than Andrea Bocelli?

Bocelli has sung at Papal events before and supports the Pope proudly. The World Meeting of Families is a Roman Catholic Church organization. The meeting takes place every three years to support priests as they care for families. The next meeting occurs in 2021 in Rome.
