Andrea Bocelli Performs 'Amazing Grace' In Empty Plaza In Milan

As Easter weekend came to a close, legendary opera singer Andrea Bocelli gifted the world a stunning solo performance, sung live at Milan's historic Duomo di Milano, to inspire hope in current times. Performing Amazing Grace on the occasion of Christian Easter, the accompanying video—which was live-streamed on Easter Sunday, and allowed people all over the world to view this incredible performance—is beautifully shot, and features haunting drone footage of an empty Milan, which is still in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Andrea then begins singing Amazing Grace in English, as he stands solemnly outside the church. His voice is as majestic as always, and even more poignant considering the current times.
Standing outside the stunning Duomo di Milano, Bocelli's voice shines as he sings the moving hymn Amazing Grace. Although he is dwarfed by the stunning Duomo, Bocelli's voice resonates loudly and strongly as he sings the lyrics: "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound / That saved a wretch like me / I once was lost, but now am found / T'was blind but now I see."
As he sings Amazing Grace, the video cuts between Milan's empty streets and other major cities worldwide, including Paris and New York. It's a sobering reminder of our present situation, but Bocelli's soothing voice helps to unite us all. This gesture of community is everything that we need right now.
