The beautiful single The Prayer is an iconic song that many fans around the world have come to love, after Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion first recorded it in 1998.

After performing it for the One World: Together at Home virtual concert, with the help of Lady Gaga, John Legend, and pianist Lang Lang, the duo has now released a lyric video of the track to inspire the world while we're all still in isolation.

The video begins with a typed message from Andrea and Celine that states: "In our current situation people all over the world are using video conferencing apps to communicate with each other. Celebrating this new global togetherness, we asked fans to join each other online and sing along to Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion's track, 'The Prayer'. #Togetherness #Unity #StaySafe."

As the song begins playing, the screen is made up of multiple people from around the world singing each line and holding up handmade signs with the lyrics, as the words to the song are also featured in the center of the screen. From Italy and Scotland, to South Africa and Australia, people from all over the world participated in this incredible project to celebrate the solidarity we are all feeling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. If anything else, the current crisis has enabled us to connect with one another in ways we probably never thought possible, and that is truly life-affirming.

As many people appear on screen to sing along and share in this beautiful song, the video comes to a close with a screen made up of the many various people who participated, reaffirming that we are all in this together, and that through unity and togetherness we will be stronger.

A closing statement is then typed again on screen, mirroring the video's opening, which says: "Thank you everyone! With all our love, Andrea and Celine XXXXXXX." It's truly a touching idea that the duo wanted to release such a warm video to bring the world together at this time.

The two singers expressed their gratitude on Twitter, with Bocelli writing to fans: "We asked people around the world to come together over video for the new official lyric video for Andrea and @celinedion's much loved single, 'THE PRAYER'. Thank you fans of the world for your wonderful participation!"

Meanwhile Dion added a heartfelt message as she wrote: "No matter where you are, I hope you all #StaySafe and find #Togetherness during these challenging times."

It's important that during the current global crisis we focus on the positives and what remains within our control, and that includes reaching out and spreading light to those that we love and even those who we don't know. The beautiful lyric video of The Prayer is a perfect reminder of that.
