John Stamos is an American actor, producer, musician, and singer who first rose to fame on the daytime soap opera "General Hospital." Stamos was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for his performance on the series. He is most recognized for his role as Uncle Jesse on "Full House" and the spin-off series "Fuller House."

After "Full House" originally ended, Stamos went on to star in a number of TV shows and films. Another of his most popular characters was Dr. Tony Gates on the hit drama series "ER." One of his more recent credits includes portraying the role of Dr. Nicky on the Netflix show "You." Stamos also executive produced "Fuller House" for Netflix, on which he reprised his role as Jesse Katsopolis.

Stamos was born August 19, 1963, in Cypress, California, to a family of Greek-American second-generation restaurant owners. His parents are Loretta and William "Bill" Stamos. The actor grew up working in his father's restaurant and attended John F. Kennedy High School, where he played in the marching band. When he was 15, he attended his first Beach Boys concert and would later get to perform with the group.

In October 2017, Stamos announced that he was engaged to model and actress Cailin McHugh. The couple was married in February 2018, and their son, Billy, was born that spring. Family Man

Stamos was known as a bit of a bad boy back in the day, or at least that was the image he portrayed on screen. Today, his life is very different and he couldn't be happier. "I always wanted to have kids, but I didn't think I'd meet the right person," Stamos said to People. "And maybe I felt like well, I have everything, I shouldn't be greedy."

The actor credits his wife for helping him straighten out his life. "I wasn't deserving of it yet I think. But six years ago, I sobered up and I became a better person. And when Caitlin came around, I recognized it immediately. I said, 'I have to be good for that to make it work,'" he said.

Stamos is an incredible dad and loves spending time with his son, especially in the mornings. "He says, 'Let's go in the kitch,' and he helps me make coffee. Then he likes to come into my office and go through the drawers looking for treats. I call him King Stamo because he rules," the star shared.

Both McHugh and Stamos work great together as parents but do the same in their relationship as well. He said, "We surprise each other. Last week, she took me to the Lavender Festival and I absolutely loved it. The simplest things are what we strive to get back into. We can't imagine what life is like without the little guy, but we dip our toes in. And then we go home to a screaming child!"

Stamos wouldn't have it any other way. "My dreams came true 100 times over," he confessed.

Luxury Home Listed in 2019

The Stamos family listed their longtime Los Angeles home in 2019 for $5.8 million. The actor purchased the house, which is located in the Beverly Hills area, in 2005. He paid $3.57 million for it originally. The home is country French-style and was built in 1951. It sits up in the mountains, looking down on the celebrity-filled Mulholland Drive.

The estate contains 4,000 square feet of living space, which includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms, reports Mansion Global. With a view of both the city and the ocean, the private home also features vaulted wood beam ceilings, French doors, and three stone fireplaces. Additionally, it has a guest house and a beautiful swimming pool.

In 2020, after three price cuts, Stamos finally sold his luxury home for $4.24 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. Stamos shared a tour of his home with Architectural Digest back when it was first put on the market, and he showed off an impressive collection of Disney memorabilia, including a full-sized "D" from a huge Disney sign.

Also, in 2020, Stamos and Mchugh paid $5.75 million for an equestrian estate in the community of Hidden Hills. The home is on 1.5 acres and is a Cape Cod-inspired traditional residence. The 5,750-square-foot house features wide-plank floors, artistic chandeliers, whitewashed beams, custom built-ins, and marble finishes, reports the LA Times. The mansion has six bedrooms, 5.25 bathrooms, two offices and a recording studio all in the single-story building.
