Amy Schumer has always been vocal about her many candid thoughts and feelings, whether it is through her comedy or about motherhood. At the moment, she is making sure that everyone knows exactly what motherhood is like after giving birth in May. Her baby, a little boy she named Gene, was born via C-section.

Amy has been expressing her journey on her personal Instagram by displaying her post-pregnancy body through various pictures. She has been relating to her many followers by posting pictures of her pumping milk to pictures of her in hospital underwear. She certainly knows how to gain the attention of the world.

She has also been very upfront about personal health issues she has had to deal with, such as hyperemesis. Hyperemesis is a complication that occurs in pregnant women that causes weight loss, vertigo, vomiting, and nausea according to WebMD. Amy herself suffered through it while pregnant.

Her two most recent Instagram posts have really gathered a lot of attention. The first was of her in a bra and underwear, standing outside with her young child in a stroller. The second picture was of her cuddling little Gene in a similar pair of underwear. Her caption told her readers “hospital underwear for life!”

Most of the comments were from people who respected her openness concerning pregnancy and the aftermath. Many young mothers can really relate to the things she is going through at the moment. It is also a welcome relief from all of the pictures of well-dressed mothers we often see on Instagram. It is sometimes hard when we compare ourselves to others.

Of course, there will always be the haters on any post. Many commented that she should be wearing clothes for the picture. They also said that she looked like she lost all self-respect for herself by posing that way in her underwear.

However, Amy was quick to reply to the naysayers on her posts:

"I’m really sorry if I offended anyone with my hospital underwear. Except I’m just kidding,", she wrote.

She then posted a picture of her C-section scar.
