"America's Got Talent: The Champions" Uncover The Big Winner

Millions of viewers tuned in Monday night, February 18, to watch one returning America’s Got Talent champion crowned reigner-supreme, at the end of a battle-royale season in which the show’s former winners competed against each other.

The last episode included a final-two composed of Darci Lynn Farmer, the 14-year-old singing ventriloquist who won season 12, and Shin Lim, winner of season 13 and a sleight-of-hand artist most known for his close-up card magic routines.

When host Terry Crews opened the winner’s envelope and read Shin’s name, officially crowning him AGT’s first champion-among-champions, the magician fell to his knees in disbelief.

Darci Lynn was eliminated from the show, earlier this season, but was brought back for the finals as one of two wildcard contestants. At the time, she said she counted herself lucky, just being able to return.

She then shocked judges and viewers alike with her first-ever opera performance, of which Simon Cowell noted, “It’s hard enough at your age to sing opera, but you’re doing it through a rabbit.” Darci Lynn said she’s sung opera “a couple times before” and considered the challenging act her best option for a finale performance.

Shin noted that his own attempts to impress the judges, this season, required changing up his usual act, which relied heavily on close-up magic and card tricks not always well-suited to the AGT stage. So, for him, the second AGT season win “meant everything.”

What do you think? Did Shin Lim earn his title of AGT double-champion, or should Darci Lynn have been crowned the reigning talent queen? Let us know in the comments - and pass this video along to your friends and family.
