Joseph Allen has proven to not only be a prodigious talent, but an inspiration to the whole nation. The 21-year-old musician from Texas performed on America’s Got Talent on Tuesday and amazed everyone with what could be the most powerful performance to appear on the show in years.

"I've always had this thing of just saying something then accomplishing it," he said in a pre-taped interview before taking the stage.
"I taught myself how to produce, how to mix music, how to engineer, and now I'm here.”

When Allen took the stage, his charm and smile already had the audience cheering for him. Long-time judge Simon Cowell asked why Allen entered the competition this year, and his response amazed everyone watching.

"I see myself as being someone who can make a major impact in the world, and I just want to see how much of a footprint I can leave on earth before I leave.”

It was immediately evident that the judges were intrigued by the young singer-songwriter. The 21-year-old told them he would be performing an original piece he wrote for the show.

His song included some eerily prophetic lyrics, like "after today, the world's gonna know my name" . He had the whole audience raving over his performance and was met with a standing ovation. It was clear that everyone was amazed with his immense talent.

"From the moment you walked out, your smile [was] electric," Howie Mandel told Allen. "Life is a series of moments, people at home are talking about this moment. People in this room are talking about this moment."

Mandel then climbed on to the judges table and explained:

"You said you want to leave a footprint. Well I'm gonna give you the footprint you need."

He immediately stomped on the Golden Buzzer, and the whole stage was covered in golden confetti.
