"Jeopardy!" is a game show that was created by Merv Griffin and debuted on Mar. 30, 1964. Over 50 years old, the show is still beloved by viewers worldwide even today. Throughout the decades, the show has accumulated a wide viewership of people of all ages, as well as professional accolades. The show has an incredible record of 39 Emmy Awards and one Peabody Award. There are even versions of "Jeopardy!" in other countries such as Australia, Germany, China, Azerbaijan, Argentina, and more.

Although the show has had multiple hosts over the years, Alex Trebek — who hosted the show for 37 seasons in total — is probably the most well-known and beloved host of the series. Aside from "Jeopardy!" Trebek hosted other shows such as "The Wizar of Odds," "Double Dare," "High Rollers," "Classic Concentration," and many others.

Although Trebek is originally from Canada, he became a naturalized United States citizen in 1998. Trebek was so good at his job as a host that he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host for his work on "Jeopardy!" alone. Unfortunately, Trebek passed away from pancreatic cancer on Nov. 8, 2020. Since then, a new host for the show has been picked, but for many, the show will never be the same.

Trebek not only left behind a legacy but also a family. This year for Father's Day, Trebek's oldest daughter Nicky decided to pay tribute to her late father on Instagram with multiple posts. Read on to learn more about Alex Trebek and how his daughter Nicky decided to honor him for Father's Day on Sunday, Jun. 20, 2021.

Alex Trebek was an iconic presence on television after his long and highly successful career as the host of the popular game show "Jeopardy!." Alex Trebek was born in Ontario, Canada, on July 22, 1940. He first started his career in television in the '60s at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation before moving to the United States in 1973 to work as a game show host. In 1984, Trebek joined "Jeopardy!" and had hosted the show ever since.

His death sent waves of grief across the nation on November 8. He had announced that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2019, reports CBS News

His death prompted many important figures to speak out about Trebek's impact on their own lives — from celebrities such as Viola Davies and Jimmy Kimmel to sports personalities such as Michael Strahan. Even the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, expressed his condolences. It is undoubtedly clear that Trebek has made a deep and meaningful mark on everyone who has met him and shared the joy of watching him excel during his TV career.

Since Trebek's passing, many members of his family have taken special occasions such as his birthday, anniversaries, and other holidays to pay tribute to their lost family member. This time, Trebek's daughter, Nicky Trebek, posted photos on her Instagram account on Saturday and Sunday in order to honor her father for Father's Day on June 20, 2021. The 55-year-old is an entrepreneur and the oldest daughter of Alex Trebek. The photos featured her other siblings as well.

"#missingyoueveryday🤍 It was 2 years ago today while we were working on the @jeopardy set that my dad bravely stepped out in front of the camera to announce he had been diagnosed with #pancreaticcancer He brought much-needed #awareness to this terrible disease and provided #hope to so many struggling. I'm beyond proud of him for his courage and integrity throughout his illness So I'm continuing what he started and will fight for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer. That's why I support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network @pancan in their #mission to improve patient outcomes.
