Alex Trebek, the beloved ‘Jeopardy!’ host was very candid in a recent interview speaking about his cancer battle. He admitted that his hosting skills have started to ‘diminish’ due to the chemotherapy treatment he is going through.

He responded to a question from CTV asking how much longer he would want to continue doing ‘Jeopardy!’ and said that he would go on until it affects the show. He knows that he is beginning to slur his words because of sores inside his mouth from chemo.

He goes on to say that he speaks with the producers daily about his status and while they and the fan-base do not notice his slurred words, the ever-professional host says he knows that he does not enunciate like he once did.

Trebek was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer and shared a video in March announcing the sad news. He was optimistic and said, “I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”
