Alaskan Malamute Sits Still In Airplane Seat To Accompany Its Disabled Owner

There has been some debate lately on the necessity of allowing companion pets on a public airline. Often, smaller animals don't seem to be a big problem as their cages or little bodies can fit under the seat, right at the owner's feet.

But how would you feel sitting beside (or behind) a larger canine who can dwarf the average passenger?

The animal in question was an Alaskan Malamute. Malamutes can grow to a size of two feet or more and a fit dog can weigh around 85 pounds. Certainly not a huge dog, but far from petite as well.

Luckily, malamutes have a pleasant, friendly disposition and most people seem to enjoy being around them. This particular malamute was spotted on a China Southern airline, accompanying his disabled owner, who had issues with flying.

According to accounts, he was quiet, happy looking, and really a well-behaved "passenger."

Watching the video, this lovable pup was quite content in taking a middle seat but it can be seen that there was only the owner on the aisle seat and no passenger in the window seat.

In actuality, there weren't all that many travelers on this particular flight, so there didn't seem to be much of a concern about this cute doggie's size or the fact that he was taking a complete seat of his own.

Dogs are beloved worldwide for their companionship, loyalty, and always become an important member of any family. Generally, when we travel away from home, we have to say good-bye to our 4-legged friends, but the traveler here was lucky enough that the airline was happy to allow her to bring along her best friend!

What do you think? Would you enjoy spending time in the air with this gentle guy or would you ask the flight attendant to perhaps move you as far away as possible?
