In a world of negativity, it is refreshing to hear stories of fellow humans spreading love and positivity. A Valley, Alabama Fairfax Elementary School teacher, is one such person, who has gone viral this year for her unique take on providing positive reinforcement to her students.

Mrs. Caffie, who teaches third grade, achieved her viral status after one of her student's mothers went to Facebook to share her excitement after the teacher brought the family a yard sign to be used as congratulations for a perfect reading test. The mother said in her post that the sign was "amazing" and that it "made Christopher's day."

That post, which showcases Mrs. Caffie and Christopher posing with the sign stating, "Mrs. Caffie is so proud of me" has garnered more than 19,000 Facebook reactions and has been shared more than 9,000 times in a one-month time frame.

Christopher's mom was not the only parent thrilled with Mrs. Caffie, demonstrated with comments and more posts showing happy students. Parents are overjoyed that their children are being taught by a teacher who makes a point to praise hard work.

In a post by the teacher for an online fundraiser, Mrs. Caffie reveals her motivations, saying that in low-income areas like hers, “Several kids don’t get much outside exposure, making the school the only place where they can experience great things.” Mrs. Caffie is ensuring that her students get to experience great moments.

While she has only recently gained notoriety for her signs, they have been around for a while. Fairfax Elementary is likely not surprised at all with the recent fame, having recognized Mrs. Caffie the year before with a Teacher of the Year award.

A post by the school reads: “A teacher is defined as an educational Rockstar who lives to inspire and loves to encourage. With that being said, Congratulations to Mrs. Caffie, our school’s 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year. The most valuable resource that all teachers have is each other. Fairfax is grateful for coworkers who motivate others to grow, work harder, and achieve great things, all while wearing a SMILE! Congratulations, Mrs. Caffie. We are proud of you!!!”

It is terrific to see thoughtful individuals, such as Mrs. Caffie go viral. She, too, deserves positive reinforcement. Her creative ideas will have a lasting impact on the lives of the students she has taught. Let's keep spreading these messages of positivity, the more who participate the better our world.
