Airplane Engine Powered Motorcycle With Hubless Wheels Goes For Drive

Tarso Marques is a former Brazilian F1 racer who is, unquestionably, one of the most formidable operators of motor vehicles in the entire world. His incredible skill and raw talent behind the wheel is something that only true aficionados of motorsports can admire.

However, what few people know about is Tarso's ability to innovate and create in order to challenge new paradigms of speed and skill. It is in this fusion of unbelievable potential and futuristic possibility that he created the legendary TMC Dumont motorbike, as seen in this video from 2018.

Far from a typical motorcycle, the TMC Dumont is not powered by your regular 2-stroke or 4-stroke engine. Rather, this absolute beast of a machine is powered by an actual airplane engine, according to The Manual. It has a sleek, futuristic vibe that just screams "fast." Stainless steel and chrome dazzle the eye, and it looks more like something that you would find in a far-off sci-fi thriller than cruising down the road or local highway. A set of hubless wheels complete the mechanical oddity; it begs the question just what it can do and what it can endure.

The engine in the TMC Dumont is an original 300 horsepower Rolls Royce Continental V6, according to New Atlas. It hails from an aircraft from back in the 1960s, and it was reconfigured in order to give it new life so that it may power another impressive metal beast. The wheels are 36 inches in diameter, and they don't even look like they're rotating when the motorcycle is in motion. The chassis is mounted so low to the ground that it's impossible to fathom how any rider could safely turn the contraption. However, this only adds to the legendary skill that Tarso Marques brings whenever he operates a machine. It almost seems like he's part machine himself; how else could anyone explain his talent for piloting such seemingly impractical, impossible technology?

Taking a look at the rear wheel, it appears incredibly close to the rider's back. It wouldn't take long at all in order for the rider of such a dangerous device to be jettisoned to the ground below with even the smallest of bumps sending him back a couple of inches. Let's hope that it's only ever taken out on the smoothest of roads!

Tarso debuted his fantastic creation while at Daytona Bike Week in 2018, according to The Manual. While it may be generally impractical for many people to ride, the TMC Dumont was a huge draw for spectators at the event. It's thunderous pipes absolutely roar with dominance and intimidation as it coasts down the road. The motorcycle has what is considered to be a commanding presence; everything gets out of its way as it progresses down the asphalt.

Tarso rides his creation with a slightly hunched forward posture. It's almost reminiscent of a wild lion in the savanna stalking its prey. There isn't a lot to say against such a feat of engineering and riding talent. Every single year, there's always somebody that's trying to put out the most futuristic motorcycle to wow crowds. However, overcoming the feat of engineering performed by Marques is going to be practically impossible at this rate! We have absolutely no idea what he could have planned to outdo himself next time, but all we can say is that we are incredibly excited to see what he brings to the table against rival manufacturers in the challenge to create the most impressive motorcycle on the planet earth!

Have you or your friends ever been to the Daytona Motorcycle Rally? What do you think about Marques and his motorcycle? Do you think that you could ride it? We want to hear about how you would give it a try! Then be sure to pass this on to your friends as well!
