Sometimes the worst situations can lead to a beautiful new life. This was the case for a poor squirrel whose mom abandoned him after he fell out of a tree and sustained some life-threatening injuries. Instead of letting him die, Decan Andersen gave him a second chance at a good life.

After Decan witnessed the squirrel leaving her injury baby behind, he didn't hesitate to take the squirrel into his own care and get on the phone with wildlife experts. Decan brought the squirrel to the vet to get patched up and hoped to release him back into the wild once he was healthy.

To his surprise, his cats adopted the baby squirrel and loved to cuddle with him all day. Decan knew he couldn't release the little guy back into the wild if he lost his instinctual fear of cats. He decided to embrace his new son by learning how to be the best parent to a squirrel.

Decan's kids named their new family member Tintin, which was borrowed from the movie they had been watching- “The Adventures of Tintin.” Tintin is now living his best life by being spoiled with a diet rich in fruits and seeds and plenty of cuddles from his humans and cats. He even has his own little harness so that he can go on supervised walks outside!

Tintin is an Instagram star now with over 100,000 followers.

If you look at all of the pictures that capture his life, you'll see why! As it turns out, squirrels can get hit with a craving for midnight snacks, too. Tintin's parents let him wander freely about the fridge to pick out the fruit that is calling his name.

If you want to hear Tintin's full transformation, you can hear it from Deacon himself in the video below!
