One day during a typical shift at a cookie shop in the Katy Mills Mall in Texas, a teenager decided to buy a treat for a police officer who works in the mall. The reaction of the couple next in line is truly disheartening.

Zach Randolph is an 18-year-old working at the cookie shop. On this day, a police officer who works at the mall stopped by the shop to grab a cheesecake brownie according to Fox 26 News.

The teenager decided to buy the officer's brownie out of his own pocket, as a simple gesture for the officer's work at the mall and in the larger community. It was a $2.75 gesture of thanks. The officer was grateful for Zack's gesture, took the brownie, and went off to enjoy the treat.

What happened next is the part of this story that is truly unfortunate. A couple was in line behind the officer came up to the counter and asked Zack to give them a free dessert as well. The teenager politely told the couple that he would not do that. That is when the couple started verbally attacking the teen.

The man and woman became extremely heated and started threatening him. To get away from the situation, the teenager went to the back room of the shop.

When they left, Zack hoed that was all that would happen. He never thought buying a baked good for a police officer was going to enrage other customers.

Unfortunately, that was not the only fallout from the couple's outrage. The next day, Zack was told he was being suspended for a week. He would also not be paid.

Zack's mom, Tami, was absolutely furious. She posted her outrage on social media. The story spread quickly. Higher up's at Zack's company saw the post online and immediately took action. They took Zack off of suspension and said what he did was right and that he should not have been punished for it.
