Those that read the Bible know that Jesus commands his disciples to do "unto the least of these".

Many Christians interpret these words in many different ways. From volunteering at soup kitchens to donating their money, there are various ways to live out this commandment.

However, one woman in San Diego, California seriously takes this commandment to heart.

Debra Davis has come to be known as Auntie Debra for her consistent kindness and compassion

While Davis could take the commandment to mean occasionally donating her money here or there, she gives it an entirely new meaning by doing big things in her community.

In her day job, Davis works at the Hoover High School in the cafeteria. Serving her students every day with a smile, after work Davis doesn't stop her service there.

She uses her cooking skills to prepare food for the homeless in her city. At 3:30 am each morning, Davis gets up to prepare food, go to work, then feed people in her community for five hours a day.

Every day, Davis does this extreme act of kindness with money from her own pocket.

Davis' good deeds began attracting the attention of others, inspiring them to give out of the kindness of their hearts as well.

So far, Davis has inspired others to raise more than $27,000 on GoFundMe. All this attention also resulted in Davis being invited to an interview on the Steve Harvey Show.

On the show, Davis explains that her dedication to feeding the homeless comes from the bible. As Christians are commanded to feed and clothe the less fortunate, Davis explains that she is doing what God asked her to do. As she puts it, she's "just a servant".

Harvey surprised Davis with a $5,000 check to Sam's Club to thank her for serving the community so well.

In the moving on-screen moment that Davis accepts the check, there are tears in her eyes. As Harvey gives Davis the check, he says that everyone already knows exactly where the money will go.

The incredible kindness of Davis' actions is certainly not lost on us. What will you do to "heed the call" and help others that are less fortunate than you?
