A True Pioneer

Koch and her colleague Jessica Meir completed the first all-women spacewalk at the International Space Station on October 18, 2019. This was only one of Koch’s six spacewalks. Koch also spent a staggering 42 hours outside of the space station during this research-heavy mission which featured experiments on dark matter, biology, and technology.

Returns Home

After landing in Kazakhstan, Koch underwent public festivities befitting such a celebrity. After all, such accomplishment makes scientific advancement possible for everyone. Next, her attention turned to home and to one of her most faithful companions.

To Unconditional Love

LBD is frequently an abbreviation for “little black dress,” or a garment that is a reliably good choice for many different occasions. In Koch’s world, LBD is also the name of her beloved dog. Upon Koch’s return, LBD proved her loyalty to Koch through eagerly barking at the door, jumping on her, and covering her with doggie kisses.
