After a terrible, freak accident took the life of her husband, Abby Toone was left distraught and with four young children to take care of. Jon Toone was killed in his yard after he was stung by wasps. Jon lived long enough for Abby to race to his side, but he died shortly afterwards.

With such an unexpected death, Abby had to take care of her children while also having to pay the bills. Abby was not prepared to take care of the family finances as she waited for Jon's insurance settlement.

Abby knew it would not be possible for her kids to have any Christmas presents.

Abby's tragic story was known to some, and EastIdahoNews.com saw an opportunity to bring some joy to the lives of the Toone family. A secret Santa has been helping people out for four years in the area. Nate Eaton, who works for East Idaho News, has been the messenger for that anonymous figure.

The small Idaho community know Eaton and the good news he will bring.

It still took Abby by surprise, and she was reduced to tears by the gesture. It had just been a few months since Jon's death, and the emotions were still raw when she opened the box Nate brought with him.

Abby's children were present, and the contents of the box left Abby speechless. Abby's kids tried to guess the amount of the check, but they could not come close.

While nothing will ease the pain of Jon's death, the $10,000 that Abby received will help her and the kids enjoy Christmas a little bit more. The money will also help Abby in the new year while she and her family try to move on without their beloved husband and father.
