After Seeing Her Son's Hands On Picture Day, Mom Breaks Down As She Realises The Truth In Their Lives

When we have children, we want to give them everything and try our best to provide them all the needs and wants too. You have to buy the food, and need to buy the clothes, and you also want to buy the toys and candy too.

Responsibilities sometimes cause us to divert our funds otherwise. It's hard to afford everything you need to provide for your child.

Mother of five, Cassandra Lane, knows just how hard that can be. With five children she knows that you have to make sacrifices here and there in order to provide for them all. She knows that loving them is the most important thing that they need and she gives that to them over everything else.

Cassandra and her son, Zeke, were waiting for his turn to take his his high school senior portraits. She was thinking about their ride in. On the way to take the photos, she had noticed how Zeke's hands appeared. He had dark stained hands from working, just like his father's and Cassandra's father as well.

She told him that he didn't have to worry about it because the photos would just be headshots. While they were sitting in line waiting, she noticed that kids were putting on their class rings and letterman jacks. Then she remembered Zeke's hands. She began to become emotional and tear up.

She wondered if she had provided him enough as a parent should have throughout his life. She recalls that he spends his summers working outside instead of goofing off with his friends. He didn't ask for a class ring or a jacket. He didn't even get a new car. She felt tiny when comparing herself to the other parents. They couldn't see the love that she had provided him with.

It really messed her up and she couldn't seem to stop crying about it. She recalls that she apologized to Zeke and he laughed at her. He didn't understand why she was sorry. He told her that she taught him how to work for things and understand the value of them.

He went on to tell her that because of her he understands not to feel like he is owed something. He was grateful for everything she provided for him, especially the love and the lessons.

Her sister went on to remind her that life isn't about things. It's about relationships and how we are covered by God's grace when we do mess up. This helped her to realize that she had done a wonderful job and that all of her children were placed in her arms by God.

She wants other moms to stop playing the comparing game. It's just not fair to you. You are their mom, not someone else and that is how it was meant to be.

Do you think your parents made sacrifices for you? Pass this on to your mom and tell her just how much you appreciate her!
