After Nursing An Injured Squirrel Back To Health, It Comes Back To Thank It's Savior

With all of the wonders of Mother Nature, it does have some cruel realities. Often, with the survival of the fittest, some of the smaller and weaker creatures can be injured or worse. So, what if you find one of those little, injured animals in your yard? Watch this video and see what Sheila Mattie did.

When Sheila's friend called her and told her that she had found two baby squirrels that needed help, she wasted no time getting to the poor little animals. She realized that one of the babies, a boy, had a broken paw and would need constant care. So, she took the baby squirrel home to help him mend.

We were all raised and taught not to touch wild animals. Folklore tells us that if we touch baby animals, the mother will not feed them and they will die. But, is that really true? Sheila didn't care. All she knew was that this tiny creature needed her help and she was going to do everything possible to help it.

She named the little guy Crash Bandipoop and cared for him daily. He began to improve and proved to be a very sociable little guy.

He seemed almost domesticated as he hung out with Sheila’s family and would even sit on her Great Pyrenees dog, Diesel. Crash became very fond of Sheila and followed her everywhere.

His favorite spot to sleep was in Sheila's bra. Crash even went to work with Sheila in her bra and nobody suspected a thing.

He was so small and quiet, Sheila's dad didn't even know he was in the house while he was recuperating.

Fortunately, Crash healed and grew up. Unfortunately, Sheila knew that she had to return him to his natural habitat. His temperament just wasn't going to let him be an inside animal. So, she released him into her backyard, fearing the worst.

After not seeing Crash for a week, Sheila could only hope for the best for him.

Then, he suddenly appeared on her back porch and jumped up onto her lap. Sheila was overjoyed as they played like old friends. We sure are happy that Sheila shared her story and video with us! Aren't you? Check out the video right here:
