An actress, author, fitness expert, feminist, and activist, Jane Fonda is a true multi-hyphenate. Known for being one of the most beautiful women in the world, Jane is not only gorgeous but extremely talented and intelligent to boot. Now 84 years old, the actress is still actively working in Hollywood, with her show "Grace & Frankie" in its 7th and final season.

Fonda first lit up the big screens in the 1960s. Her fans were thrilled by her performances in movies like "Fun With Dick And Jane," "A Doll's House," "Better Living Through Chemistry," and, of course, the classics "Barbarella" and "Klute." Fonda left Hollywood a few times over the years, but she always returned to thrill fans once more. There was also a time when Fonda was known for her aerobics workout videos.

The daughter of actor Henry Fonda and socialite Frances Ford Brokaw, Jane Seymour Fonda was born on December 21, 1937, in New York City. Named after Jane Seymour, the third wife of Henry VIII, she was actually distantly related to her on her mom's side.

Jane is known to have much to say about men — after all, she was famously married three times and knows more than a thing or two about the opposite sex. In 2020 she even revealed that she's quit dating, as she doesn't need a man to feel content or happy in her life.

While some may think that it means that Fonda has given in to a cynical point of view, she actually states that her decision has to do with discovering her "strength." Never one to take the traditional path, Fonda is once again forging her own way. Keep reading to find out more about Fonda's relationships and how she feels about romance now.

Jane Fonda has been no stranger to love. The famous actress has been married three times. First married in 1965 to filmmaker Roger Vadim, the couple was together until 1973, when they split. That same year she married a second time to a politician named Tom Hayden. Despite their whirlwind journey to the altar, they stayed married until 1990. Then just one year later, in 1991, Jane married billionaire Ted Turner

Their marriage lasted ten years before ending in divorce. From these three marriages, Jane had three children — Vanessa Vadim with her first husband, Troy Garity with her second husband, and an adopted daughter named Mary Launa Williams, also with her second husband.

Her most recent relationship was with music producer Richard Perry, whom she dated from 2009 until 2017. Speaking previously about falling in love with men who had troubles with emotional intimacy, she has stated that her father also had the same issues. Despite aiming to date men that were the opposite of her father, she nonetheless ended up with people who shared that common trait. She's even admitted that she can find emotional intimacy scary.

So with her rocky romantic track record and her fierce independence, it's somewhat unsurprising that in September 2020, Jane announced that she'd quit dating. She told The Guardian: "(That part of my life) is gone. I can tell. It's just over — I've closed up shop. I'm extremely happy on my own."

In an interview with "SELF" magazine, Jane spoke about beauty, her self-care routine, and how she doesn't feel lonely without a significant other. She told the magazine: "See, I live by myself. I don't have a husband or a lover, so I can kind of do whatever I want."

While the actress has decided to call it quits in her dating life, it doesn't mean that she hasn't experienced a life rich with love. She has three children from her marriages that are now grown and seeking out their own happiness.

Fonda also had the opportunity to date many legends of the silver screen. She had a romance with Marlon Brando that didn't live up to expectations. Fonda even has a "one that got away" story, according to Daily Mail. Apparently, legendary singer, Marvin Gaye, was interested in her romantically, but she rebuffed his advances.

Fonda's declaration that her need for romance is over now that she has found inner strength is inspiring. Her words remind us that true happiness can't be found through another person but in our own core. "I've closed up shop," she said. I'm extremely happy on my own."

The actress claims that she has no desire to date. However, even if she is done with romance, Fonda says she does still think about it. "I don't want to be in a relationship, a sexual relationship, again. I don't have that desire. Do I fantasize? Yes, here's my fantasy. I'll just put it out there," she said to Harper's Bazaar. "But the problem is that, like a man, I would want a younger man. Isn't that awful? It's a thing about skin. I would want a younger man, and I'm too vain."

Whether she's inspiring people with her activism, words of wisdom regarding aging and female independence, or showing that one can truly be happy without a romantic partner, Jane is an icon and inspiration to us all.
