When Tina Bejarano was 17-years-old, she became pregnant. Although her mother did not want her to keep her baby, Tina was determined to take care of her daughter. In an interview with Fox 26 News, Tina recalled how her baby girl was taken away from her right after she gave birth. The next day Tina received devastating news, when her mother told her "The baby died 15 minutes after it was born. It never made it. It was sick"

This news devastated Tina, and she spent her entire life mourning the loss of her daughter. A short time after losing her child, Tina married her boyfriend Eric Gardere. Although Tina’s daughter had not been his, he loved her and grieved the loss with her. Each year they noted the deceased daughter’s birthday, and Tina felt depressed about all she had lost.

That all changed when Tina received an email from someone she did not know saying that they had taken a DNA test, and the results indicated that Tina was their mother. That email was from her long lost daughter Kristin who was now 29 years old. Kristin had been adopted shortly after birth by a family who lived in Las Vegas. As if that were not surprising enough, Kristin also shared that she was born transgender and was in the process of transitioning to live life as a man. Kristin also shared that he and his wife were living in New Jersey and had a new baby.

Tina’s lifetime of sadness was quickly transformed into boundless joy. Not only was her child alive, but she was also a grandmother now! Tina and Kristin communicate with each other daily and are planning to meet soon so Kristin can meet his other siblings and Tina can meet her daughter-in-law and grandchild.
