May 4, 2018, Spc. Brooks Lindsey was sitting at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as his flight was about to board. After finding out why, the other passengers and workers told him not to get on the plane.

Brooks and his wife Haley were expecting their first child. The only thing was that Brooks was in the army in El Paso and his family was in Texas. The

While he wanted to stay with her throughout the whole experience, he had to report for training and deployment for the army. He didn't know if he would make it to the birth.

Before he left, they had agreed to name their daughter Millie.

In order to return for his daughter's birth, his wife had to be in distress. However, her pregnancy was going pretty smoothly. And he didn't wish this to be any different. He wanted his wife and child healthy. He just wanted to be there for the birth.

When Haley went in for a routine appointment, she found out Millie was in distress due to high blood pressure, she wrote in the Love What Matters blog. While this wasn't great news, it was enough to get Brooks on a plane home.

Due to delays and layovers, Brooks couldn't get there in time. Luckily his mother was there to facetime the whole delivery. He was able to talk his wife through the birth and see the birth of his daughter.

He was watching the birth as his flight was boarding and everyone told him to stay off the plane so he could watch the birth. He was soon able to board and go home to see his new baby girl.

Some things are worth waiting for! Would you have minded your flight being delayed so this soldier could watch his baby girl being born?
