Dogs are widely known as man's best friend. However, it doesn't make sense to neglect one's pet canine to the point that they fall over dead. Heat strokes are real - you won't believe how many calls this organization got in just one day.

We dog owners feed and water our pups when they're hungry, play with them, and cuddle up for fun and games. Even people who don't own dogs themselves are likely still fans of canines; after all, they're adorable!

Recently, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - better known as the RSPCA - racked up nearly 750 calls regarding extraordinarily high temperatures that didn't sit well with hundreds of people's dogs.

One of those canines, a healthy pup going on a walk with its owner at the reasonable time of 9:00 a.m. This dog's death, however, could have been prevented by taking the necessary precautions.

"We do understand the crucial nature of walking your dog, however please bear in mind that walking in high temperatures can cause serious and irreversible damage, and in some cases death."

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals warned dog and other pet owners that it was too hot outside to safely, reliably walk or otherwise exercise their animals outside. Any temperatures at or above 86 degrees Fahrenheit are dangerous to your furry friends.

Officials at the organization noted that they each saw several people walking, jogging, running, or otherwise exercising their dogs, despite the warnings. Even worse - those owners regularly exercised pets during the hottest hours of the day.

The RSPCA reminds dog owners to keep all dogs inside during such advisories; if owners absolutely must move them, they should not be moved extensively. Further, officials at the non-profit organization remind dog owners that dogs do not "get used" to a climate's heat. If your dog is overheating, never give them cold water - only cool or lukewarm H2O.

Pass this on to your dog-loving friends to warn them against walking their dog in hot temperatures! It could save a life.
