Pinnochio is a kitten with many different medical issues who was taken in by Friends for Life Rescue Network based in Los Angeles, California in mid-June of 2020. Thanks to the rescue, Pinnochio is set to have new and better life after the completion of various medical operations.

An adorable little kitten—who looked six to eight weeks old but is actually three months old—was brought in to the Los Angeles Friends for Life Rescue Network. This kitten is definitely unique! According to the Friends For Life Rescue Network Instagram page, He has a misaligned jaw due to cranial deformation, giving him a crooked little grin.

When rescuers brought him in, he was also starving, covered in fleas, and was suffering from a cold. Plus, he had an umbilical cord hernia that would need to be addressed. He had a pretty rough start, and it was clear to rescuers that he would need some extra love and care.

However, despite these issues, the kitten didn't let that stop him from taking on a whole new lease on life. Despite the variety of problems he had when rescuers took him in, he was still very insistent that he receive everyone's love and attention. Within a few minutes of being brought inside, the kitten had eaten nearly two entire cans of cat food. Satisfied, he laid down to take a nap.

Once he woke up, the little guy was full of energy. Despite his mild cold and hernia, he still demanded everyone's attention. According to the founder of the Friends For Life Rescue Network, Jacqueline DeAmor, despite these issues, he was constantly purring, always excited, and very sweet.

But, we all could have guessed that. Just looking at the way he poses for the camera, it's obvious he loves being the spotlight and will never say no to some additional attention.

Thanks to his crooked little face, the staff at Friends for Life Rescue Network decided to name him Pinocchio. As it turns out, the little guy had quite a few minor issues. This was due to a skull deformity, which can happen as a result of difficult birthing. Ultimately, this caused his mouth and jaw to be somewhat deformed, making it just slightly misaligned. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be the end of Pinocchio's problems.

Within the first few days of being in his rescue home, Pinocchio quickly adapted, becoming highly vocal and always wanting to play. He started eating regularly, gaining weight, and developing his strength. However, another issue was very rapidly recognized. Pinocchio was suffering from pectus excavatum — a condition in which his breastbone turned inward. Ultimately, this was affecting his ability to properly breathe, as he couldn't expand his lungs fully.

So, it was off to surgery he went. However, according to the vet and techs in charge of the surgery, he was entirely the charmer. Pinocchio did his best to make sure as soon as he woke up from surgery, someone was paying attention to him. According to Jacqueline, one of the vet techs said little Pinocchio purred so loudly that at one point, it was nearly impossible to check his heartbeat.

Pinocchio clearly intends to make a full recovery. He impatiently waited to be reunited with the rescue team, who he decided was his family now. The little guy is insanely affectionate and truly just wants someone to love and care about him. His journey to a full recovery might be a little bumpy, but the rescue team has no concerns he will pounce on every obstacle he encounters.

Ultimately, Pinocchio likely wouldn't have survived had he been left to fend for himself. However, the rescue team at Friends for Life Rescue dedicated themselves to providing him with the love, care and nutrition he needed to get back on his feet. He's a cute, kind of quirky cat who has a special place in the heart of everyone he meets.
