Upon learning that humans like receiving gifts, a humpback dolphin named Mystique has made it a habit to bring gifts to the staff at the Barnacles Dolphin Centre and Cafe in Queensland, Australia.

Dolphins aren't just cute. They're well-known as some of the smartest animals in the world. Scientists have spent plenty of time studying dolphin behaviors, languages and styles of learning.

Like many organizations around the world, the Dolphin Centre has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. That means it's not open to the public anymore. Mystique never minded the crowds of people who came to see him and his pod family.

In fact, it was clear he enjoyed the attention. But when the crowds stopped coming, he noticed the change and adapted. He started to spend more quality time with the remaining people there. Part of that involved bringing them even more presents than he had before, according to ABC News.

Located in Tin Can Bay in Queensland, Australia, Barnacles Dolphin Centre operates a "cafe" for dolphins in the area. Volunteer feeders for the organization have gotten to know Mystique and his pod very well.

It's safe to say that this 29-year old dolphin is one of the more unusual sea creatures they've ever met. And although the public isn't allowed to see him up close anymore, they're following his story closely on social media. Mystique is one of the most feel-good stories of the quarantine period for many people.
