Adorable Black Friesian Filly Feels Earth & Grass For First Time

Jul 08, 2020 by apost team

When animals first enter into the world, they are typically helpless and in need of their parents. They stick close to their mama's side and rely on her entirely. At least, most animals do. Baby horses, or foals, are an exception to this rule. When they make their grand entrance into the world, they often do so head on. Lieke, a Friesian filly, is a prime example of how ready baby horses are to have fun and we see this in a Youtube video from March 30th, 2019.

Lieke is a Friesian filly. Filly is just a technical term for a female baby horse. Born recently, Lieke had never in her life laid eyes on the great outdoors. She certainly had not felt the grass or the gentle breeze. Within moments of being introduced to nature, she is absolutely taken away. Though she is cautious and her instincts instruct her to stay near her mother's side, Lieke is ready. She proceeds to play, make noise, bounce up and down, and prance like a natural. It is as if she was not new to the earth at all. It is a sight for sore eyes, to say the least.

Lieke wants to explore and enjoy everything she sees. She is careful to stay close to her mother's tail, though. She looks beneath her own body, follows her mother, and even tries to see what is up with this strange camera that is watching her!

Before you know it, Lieke's mom is taking the lead. Teaching her baby how to run is important for survival. Lieke just enjoys it because it is fun. Within moments, Lieke and her mother are running at full speed ahead. The two horses appear to be having the time of their lives, stopping only to get a drink of water.

What do you think of Lieke? Let us know and be sure to pass this on to other animal-lovers to enjoy!
