By now, the whole world is probably aware that British singer Adele is releasing her fourth studio album, "30," this week. Nov. 19 is the big day and for over one month now, the world has been having Adele fever.
This began with subtle hints that the artist was about to release her new record and has turned into a full-blown countdown until the big day, which is nearly here. In that time she's appeared on the cover of Vogue, where she gave an intimate interview with the magazine, and just last Sunday CBS released a two-hour special in which she performed live at Los Angeles' Griffith Observatory. Accompanying the performance, Adele sat down for a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
During the interview, she opened up about everything that's been going on in her life in the past few years, including her widely-talked about weight loss, her divorce from her ex-husband Simon Konecki and the inspiration behind her new album, which has a lot to do with her divorce and being a mom to her son Angelo Adkins.
Now 9 years old, Angelo appears to only be realizing recently that his mom is a global superstar. In fact, Adele revealed during the CBS concert that it was the first time her son had ever seen her perform live. She got emotional when she discussed it but in true Adele fashion, she used her humor to make light of the situation and said it was too early for her to cry and ruin her makeup.

As she stood on the stage in front of the Griffith Observatory, Adele looked absolutely gorgeous in a black beaded gown, singing beneath the stars in the sky and there were just as many more in the audience. Celebrity guests at the concert included Lizzo, Leonardo DiCaprio, Melissa McCarthy, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King and more. But despite having a who's who of celebs in the audience, Adele was most interested in someone not famous who was there — her son. She said onstage:
"This is the first time that my son has ever seen me perform. And I got really dressed up."
Clearly emotional, the singer used her signature humor to hold back the tears when she added:
"I'm not gonna cry. Anyway it's too soon to cry and I don't want someone to come fix me face."
Nevertheless, she ended the moment and said:
"It's the absolute honor of my life, baby, to have you here tonight. And you look so beautiful and so handsome and smart."
She also mentioned him being there on Twitter, where she wrote:
"It was also the first time my son saw me perform and I've never been so nervous in my life."
Besides having Angelo see her perform live for the first time, the singer was no doubt nervous because her entire new album is dedicated to him. In her Vogue interview, she revealed that she hopes that "30" will be a way of explaining things to Angelo one day, as something he can listen to when he's older.

In Adele's interview with Winfrey, she opened up about this further when she revealed:
"I just wanted for him to hear me talking madly, deeply about who I am and how I feel. Like, you know, I don't know if I'd ever be able to have that conversation with him in real life."
When asked by Winfrey what is the dream she holds for her son, Adele said: "Just to be a good person. Be a good and happy person." She added that she doesn't expect anything of him and she doesn't care what his career is, "as long as he's passionate about whatever it is that he does and he's happy."
She also opened up about her divorce from her ex-husband and credits him and her son with saving her life. She said:
"He came at such a moment, where the stability that him and Angelo have given me, you know, even now I trust him with my life."
After Winfrey asked, "Really?" Adele earnestly replied: "Oh my gosh, like, beyond ... him and Angelo they were angels sent to me, that's how I feel."
With all of the changes that have been going on for Adele in the last few years, it only made sense that she would finally release new music to tell her story. She opened up in her Vogue interview about how personal "30" is. She said:
“It’s sensitive for me, this record, just in how much I love it. I always say that 21 doesn’t belong to me anymore. Everyone else took it into their hearts so much. I’m not letting go of this one. This is my album. I want to share myself with everyone, but I don’t think I’ll ever let this one go.”
