Adele Intends To Come Out With A New Album In September 2020

It’s been 5 years since Adele released her last album and fans have been impatiently waiting for a new one. Now it looks like 2020 will be the year we’ve all been waiting for.

The 31-year-old singer recently sang at the wedding of her friends Laura Dockrill and Hugo White, a former member of the Maccabees. After the ceremony Adele gave a surprise performance with some of her most popular songs as well as a few songs from other artists like the Spice Girls or Beyoncé. 

At some point during her performance, the singer was recorded saying “expect my album in September,” confirming that a new album will be dropping this year.

Rumors about a new Adele album coming in 2020 have been circulating for a while now as Adele hasn’t put out a new album since the “25” album release back in 2015.

In an interview with Music Week in January, Adele’s manager, Jonathan Dickins, already revealed that a new album could be expected in 2020 saying “the sooner the better.” 

On her 31st birthday, Adele also brought up the topic of a new album. In an Instagram post, she revealed how hard the year following her 30th birthday had been but hinted that it might have inspired her to produce a great album:

“30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all. No matter how long we’re here for life is constant and complicated at times” she wrote in the post’s caption before she jokingly added,“30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you.” 

As Adele hinted in her post, the new album might have been a way for her to work through all the challenges she has faced in the last year. Probably the biggest challenge she had to overcome, was splitting up with her husband Simon Konecki. The two had been together for about seven years and now plan to co-parent their 6-year-old son together, as Adele’s representatives revealed in a statement last year.

We are excited to learn more about Adele’s upcoming album and all the heart-wrenching songs she came up with this time.
