Award-winning vocalist Adele has been topping the charts since her popular song "Chasing Pavements" hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 2009. Since then, Adele has given us timeless hits, such as "Hello," "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone Like You," "Skyfall," and "Rumor Has It," among many others.
Instead of making music, Adele has focused on her family and her own health in the last few years. The singer decided to take a huge leap forward regarding her health and lost almost 100 pounds. Motivated to get healthy so that she could be a better mother to her son, Adele's weight loss journey is one that has seemed to make the singer extremely happy, healthy, and confident.
Not only has she touted the benefits of getting fit, but she's also been outspoken on other practices that have helped her to feel grounded and grow as a person. In 2020, she was vocal about author Glennon Doyle's book "Untamed: Stop Pleasing, Start Living" and how it helped her to live a better and more authentic life.
With the past year feeling like a whole new era for Adele, it only makes sense that her new look is now accompanied by new music. The singer has not released a new song since 2016, so the singer's new single, "Easy On Me," has fans excited.

Adele has been doing a variety of television specials lately, which have coincided with the hype around the release of her latest album, "30." In the television special "Adele One Night Only," Adele performed some new and unheard songs from her new studio album 30 while also performing older hits from her previous albums. Her performances were interspersed with interviews with Oprah Winfrey, which gave fans a lot of insight into the singer's life. Arguably, however, the highlight of the night was the surprise proposal that allowed one very lucky couple to have one of the most significant days in their lives.
However, in the latest TV special that was featured on ITV on Nov. 21, 2021, Adele was the one being surprised herself at The London Palladium. In a clip of the event that ITV posted to their official Twitter account, Adele was surprised to be reunited with someone from her childhood. During "An Audience With Adele," actress Emma Thompson asked Adele about her childhood mentor. Thompson wanted to find out if Adele had someone in to help her get through all of the "trials and tribulations of life." When asked, the 33-year-old "Easy On Me" singer responded:
"Yeah, I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove who taught me English. That was Miss McDonald."
Thompson, seemingly aware of what would happen next, proceeded to ask Adele if she kept in contact with Miss McDonald. Thompson asked, "Did you ever keep in touch?"
Adele said that she hadn't seen her teacher since before she was 12 years old.

The singer then went on to praise her old teacher:
"She was so bloody cool. So engaging. She really made us care and we knew that she cared about us."
Thompson then started to respond but trailed off as the surprise revealed itself. Thompson said:
"Yeah, cause it's odd, actually, funny enough…"
Because Adele was starting to catch on, the singer looked into the audience and asked:
"Is she here? Is Miss McDonald here?"
Adele's former English teacher Miss McDonald then emerged from the crowd as the audience broke out into applause and cheering. As McDonald came up to her, Adele said, "Hi! You look amazing darling!"
As the pair hugged, McDonald said:
"Oh my God, I'm so proud of you."
As Adele admitted that she didn't expect to be reunited, McDonald said with a laugh, "That's OK. It was supposed to be a surprise." Although McDonald said that she's no longer teaching, she's focusing on raising her children instead. McDonald thanked Adele for remembering her.
Adele replied:
"No, you really did change my life... I've still got my books you know! I've got all my books from when you were my teacher."
After the special aired, Adele took to Twitter to talk about how meaningful the evening was to her. The singer wrote:
"Home Sweet Home. I've always dreamt of doing An Audience With… There was so much love in the room for eachother, it felt like such a gig! Everyone was raucous and bang up for it! And my teacher Ms McDonald was there, it was just heaven ❤️"
Since Adele has been busy surprising fans with special moments lately, we're happy to see Adele get a special moment of her own.
