Adele Amazes Us As She Sings ‘Hello’ With Jimmy Fallon And The Roots Using Classroom Instruments

In 2015, Adele performed her song Hello with talk show host Jimmy Fallon and The Roots using only classroom instruments. She was invited to come on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote her album, 25.

The performance starts out like most of the other classroom instruments skits by the show: with a metronome. Shortly after Jimmy presses the button that starts the metronome, the guy at the back with the ukulele begins to strum.

Adele, who was 27 when she did this skit, starts singing the first word of the song, which also happens to be the song's title.

Other instruments used include a xylophone, a tambourine, and even a banana shaker. Everyone in the video was playing something, with one of The Roots members even playing two instruments at once, one with his mouth and the other with his hands.

All of them seem to be having a good time throughout the entire video which made for a memorable skit. Adele even pretends to sing through a toy phone as she continues the chorus towards the end of the song. This makes Jimmy laugh but it doesn’t stop him from his woodblock playing.

While The Roots currently serve as the house band for the show, the group actually formed back in 1987 when Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson teamed up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

According to Rolling Stone, the band has been with Jimmy Fallon since 2009 when he was hosting Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Currently a 12-member band, their music style takes an eclectic and jazzy approach to hip-hop, which has led them to win Grammy Awards.

If this doesn't prove that Adele doesn't need autotune, we don't know what will. Let us know what you think of this performance in the comments, and pass this along to your friends and family.
