What you need:

  • White pumpkin
  • Crayons
  • Glue
  • Blow dryer

Begin by painting your pumpkin white or another solid color that will allow the colors of the melted crayons to show.

The good thing about this project is that you don't have to go to the store to get anything except for your pumpkin. Try to find one that's round because it's easier to drip the melted crayons on around pumpkin instead of one that has a lot of bumps and imperfections.

Take the paper off of the crayons that you want to use.

White pumpkins work well with all colors while the black paint is good for neon or glow-in-the-dark crayons.

Position the crayons on top of the pumpkin, securing them with a hot glue gun.

Next, use a hair dryer that is set to high heat to melt the crayons.

You are in control of how your pumpkin will look! As you move the dryer around the crayons, you can choose which ones melt more than others and which ones blend together.

Create a pattern with the colors that you use or make a rainbow on your pumpkin. This is a simple craft project for classrooms or if you want to teach your children about colors.

Read the instructions carefully so that you know how to position the crayons and some of the best colors to use.
