Adam Rippon Creates Skater's Britney Routine—Her Hair Flips Earn Her Maximum Marks

Mariah Bell wowed the crowd at the US Figure Skating National Championships, taking home her very own personal best silver medal. Her two routines seemed so carefully planned and choreographed that the crowd gave her a standing ovation her for gorgeous performances. In this routine, she performed to K.D Lang's beautiful cover of the song, Hallelujah.

However, Mariah had already drawn us in during the first night. Her routine was done to a dance party mashup of popular songs such as Radar by Britney Spears and Work.

As if her song choices were not catchy enough, it was later revealed that the skating routine was choreographed by 2016 Olympics bronze medalist, Adam Rippon. The combination of these amazing attributes led to an unforgettable performance.

Her performance at the Nationals was nearly perfect. She had a slight stumble during the choreography portion, however, she had performed the routine perfectly throughout the season. Whether this was due to nerves or pure accident, her routine was still very beautiful.

Adam Rippon, himself attested to how hard Mariah had been practicing throughout the season. He uploaded a few videos of what goes on behind-the-scenes during practice to his YouTube channel. In these videos, we can see Mariah practicing her figure skating routine endlessly, learning from every mistake, and improving her performance.

While her performance is definitely unique, using difficult moves such as triples flips and triple toe loops, one move that sets her apart from other skaters is her signature hair flip! She never fails to miss a beat for her hair flips. Her move exactly matches the atmosphere of the party mashup. Adam is seen at the sidelines cheering her on as she practices her routine perfectly.

According to WWLP, Mariah Bell was born on April 18th, 1996 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She took home her first medal during the 2011 U.S Skating Championships. Since then, she has taken home two other titles: two-time U.S National bronze medalist and 2020 U.S National silver medalist. While she has had a coach since 2016, she often accredits most of her success to her former training partner, Adam Rippon.

"Adam has been such a major part of my success this year," Bell stated. "He's completely changed my outlook on training ... To have the moment with him here was so special. I was hoping something like this would happen because he deserved to have that moment, too."

After Bell's amazing performance, the first person she ran to was not her coach, but rather Rippon. While it may seem like a great idea for Rippon to take over as her coach, he has his own set of business to take care of. Since his win at the Olympics, he has been in high demand in the entertainment industry.

Rippon has been contacted for reality TV, hosting, and comedy gigs. He recently traveled nationwide, promoting his new autobiography, Beautiful on The Outside: A Memoir. Mariah has been known for her excellent performances, as well as occasional fumbles. Rippon claims that the key to helping her was to have her work harder and smarter.

"She needed to switch her mindset," he stated. "What she thought was hard work, I thought of as a light day, He hard work was what I considered a warm-up." The effort put in by both Rippon and Bell earned her the best season ever! We can only hope that together, they will accomplish more feats in the future.
