Adam Lambert Challenges James Corden To A Queen Front Man Battle

While singer Adam Lambert may have left season 8 of American Idol in second place, he certainly hasn’t let the runner-up title damper his passion for singing. Adam Lambert was known throughout the season for his raw vocal talent. He brought an innate passion to every song he performed and rarely needed any type of flash to showcase his talents.

On the other hand, Adam found his raw talent at odds with season 8 winner, Britain James Corden. Corden typically used the element of flash to woo the crowds, rather than relying on pure talent alone. Corden had a wealth of experience doing Carpool Karaoke and channeled those experiences into flashy performances.

Adam Lambert and Queen’s Brian and Roger recently made an appearance on The Late Show. Instead of a simple chat on The Late Show, James insisted that he would make a better lead singer for the band, saying a British singer should really hold the prestigious position. Adam Lambert surprisingly came out from behind stage to challenge the bold singer to a sing-off. The duo then engaged in a fierce sing-off with the winner being crowned as the one who should truly wear the crown of lead singer for Queen.

Adam Lambert showcased his incredible talents with a version of “We Will Rock You.” James retaliated by belting out “Don’t Stop Me Now.” While most people in the audience thought that James had stolen the show, Adam Lambert made a major comeback and rocked the audience and The Late Show team with an incredible performance of “Another One Bites the Dust.” The energy in the building was absolutely electric. James graciously gave way that Adam Lambert should wear the crown as Queen’s one true lead singer.

While the battle was fierce, at the end of the evening the takeaway was that both James and Adam Lambert were true champions of their craft. The two singers are very different in their style and vocal talent, but it appeared the two respects each other’s talents. The battle was a show that no one in the audience or on the show will likely ever forget.

In the end, James and Adam Lambert teamed up to duet to “Somebody to Love,” which ironically left audience members believing that what could have been a haughty competition left the two with a love of each other’s talents.
