Adam Lambert And Queen Heat Up The Oscars With "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions"

Queen got its start as a rock band before it was even called by its current name. Once Freddie Mercury joined the group, he gave it a new name, a new logo, and an amazing voice. Queen toured small venues across the UK, scored a record contract and became a part of history. The passing of Freddie Mercury in November 1991 was an end to the rock band as it was known, but after some time, the surviving members invited new singers to join them. Bassist John Deacon retired after Freddie's Death.

Adam Lambert joined Queen as a singer about 10 years ago. When Queen tours, he sings for them. He is not an official part of Queen. They market their performances as "Queen + Adam Lambert." His voice is much different than Mercury's, and some people do not like him as a part of the band.

Queen was invited to play at the 2019 Oscars. Together with Adam Lambert, they sang "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" to an excited crowd of celebrities. The Oscars did not have a host this year, so the audience was treated to many great performances.

Queen and Adam Lambert got the crowd on its feet. Other musicians, such as Lady Gaga, were there stomping their feet and clapping their hands to the music. Lady Gaga's stage name was inspired by the Queen song "Radio Gaga."

The Bohemian Rhapsody movie was nominated for five Oscars at this year's awards ceremony. While it did not receive the award for Best Picture, it ended up winning four out of five. The actor who played Mercury, Rami Malek, won for Best Actor. He gave a passionate speech thanking his immigrant parents and noting that Freddie Mercury's story is one that needs to be told in this day of cultural division. He also thanked Queen and his co-stars.
