Monica Bellucci was and is the textbook definition of beautiful. With her trademark voluptuous figure, natural brunette hair, and deep, sultry voice, the doors that opened her to the fashion industry (and later, showbiz) were countless.

According to Vertigo Mag, Monica Belluci has been Dolce & Gabbana’s muse for more than three decades. It all started when she was 25-years-old when she posed for her first Dolce & Gabbana ad campaign, a black and white TV commercial. She is noted as Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce’s (the founders of Dolce & Gabbana) favorite model. In 2012, the luxury fashion designers paid tribute to Monica by launching an exclusive collection of six lipsticks named after her.

Monica Anna Maria Bellucci was born on September 30, 1964, in Città di Castello, Umbria, an Italian Village. She is the only child of Brunella Briganti and Pasquale Bellucci. According to her IMDb, she originally pursued a career in law and attended the University of Perugia. To help pay for her tuition, Monica did modeling gigs to earn money, and that was what led her to re-route into modeling.

So in 1988, she packed up everything and moved to Milan, one of Europe’s fashion centers (and now, one of the world’s biggest), and was signed to Elite Model Management. Following a fruitful time fronting commercials and walking runways, she broke into showbiz and made her acting debut on TV in 1990, and then in Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1992, her first work in American film. Despite her presence in the US, it was her role in the 1996 French thriller The Apartment that catapulted her to fame. Her role in the thriller earned her the French equivalent of an Oscar nomination.

If she really is 56, then Monica Belluci’s looks surely did not get the memo. Recently on November 11th, 2020, Monica took to Instagram to share a print of her latest modeling gig with Vogue Italia. In it, Monica is seen in a red dress by none other than Dolce & Gabbana and looking absolutely regal. The photo is currently one out of four of the Vogue Italia spreads she has shared on her account.

When you ask a woman (or anyone, for that matter) if they would rather grow old or remain in their twenties, most would say the latter. But not Monica. “I wouldn’t want to be 20 again for anything,” the then 45-year-old told a UK newspaper back in 2009. She added that she was much happier than when she was in her youth. “You have to discover who you are, who you’re going to be, there are so many insecurities. Today, I know the things that I need, the things that I can live without,” she explained.

According to Magzter, hitting the gym in ungodly hours and being mindful of everything that she eats are two of the things Monica Belluci can live without. It is very unlike a professional model’s way of life, but the actress is unfazed by those expectations.

“I'm not someone who wakes up at 6:00 am to go to the gym,” one of her quotes reads. “The truth is that I like cakes and pasta, the odd glass of wine and a very occasional cigarette. My advice is: eat well, drink well, have good sex—and laugh a lot. The rest comes all on its own.”

“I accept who I am and that perfection doesn’t exist,” she says.

According to thethings.com, Monica is currently dating Nicolas Lefebvre, a 36-year-old model and a sculptor. Harper’s Bazaar reports that Lefebvre is the first man Monica has dated publicly since her separation from her husband Vincent Cassel in 2013. Although the exact timeline is unclear, Monica has suggested that she and Lefebvre have been together for years. In an interview with Paris Match back in November 2018, she said to them that she has “been with the same person for some time and everything is fine.” Lefebvre had still been unnamed at that time, but of him, she described: ''The man whose life I share does not do the same job as me, but he travels a lot. His pace of life allows him to understand mine."

Monica has been married twice before. First to Claudio Carlos Basso from January 1990 to June 1994, then to Vincent Cassel, with whom she shares two children, from August 1999 to August 2013.
