Scott spoke with Closer Weekly at the GEANCO Foundation Hollywood Gala when asked about the best piece of advice given to him by his dad.

“I will say that he tells me to listen. Listen more. Keep my mouth shut.”

He additionally remarked that being one of eight Eastwood siblings (Laurie, 65, Kyle, 51, Kimber, 55, Alison, 47, Kathryn, 31, Francesca, 26, and Morgan, 22) also teaches you a lot of patience.

Scott’s mom is flight attendant Jacelyn Reeves, who he raised him in Hawaii. His dad Clint didn’t get involved in Scott’s life until he moved to LA with him in high school. He told Esquire about how his dad brought him up:

“My father's definitely old-school. And he raised me with integrity—to be places on time, show up, and work hard.”

Even though Clint is a legendary actor and has also made a name for himself as a talented director, he’s not offering any handouts to his son Scott. He has to earn his way in Hollywood, a philosophy proven by the fact that Clint rejected him for a role in his film “American Sniper.” He told The Independent that the rejection turned out to have a silver lining, because it opened his schedule up to do the Nicholas Sparks adaptation “The Longest Ride.”

But the young actor is still striving to act in his dad’s films. He told Esquire that “I couldn't be more proud of him. I couldn't be more inspired by the films he makes.”

Scott is currently working on the military film “The Outpost” and is once again following his father’s footsteps—his character’s name is Clint.
