Household Hollywood name Danny Trejo, best recognized for his roles in "Breaking Bad" and "Spy Kids" is making headlines after he rescued a baby trapped in an overturned car in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 75-year-old rushed to the scene after he witnessed two vehicles collide, with one rolling over on its roof. The latter vehicle had a baby trapped inside, strapped to a car seat.

The actor reportedly tried to crawl in through a broken window but failed to unbuckle the seat belt. With the help of another bystander, Monica Jackson, they were eventually able to free the child.

The boy, whose name has not been revealed, was in the car with his grandmother who was driving at the time. She remained trapped in the car until firefighters managed to pull her to safety.

According to ABC7, Trejo distracted the child as the authorities attempted to free his grandmother. The actor reportedly works with children with special needs, so calming the boy was not an issue.

"He was panicked. I said OK, we have to use our superpowers. So he screamed 'superpowers' and we started yelling 'superpowers," Trejo told the publication. "I said do this, with the muscles. He said 'muscles. We got kind of a bond. I kept facing him away from the accident."

The crash is still being investigated by the authorities, but Trejo claims the other vehicle had run a red light which resulted in the crash with the grandmother’s vehicle.

"Pay attention," he advised motorists and parents. "And the only thing that saved that little kid was his car seat, honest to God."

Three people were taken to hospital to be treated following the accident, with none sustaining life-threatening injuries.
