Actor And Comedian Bob Saget Dead At 65
Jan 10, 2022 by apost team
Actor Bob Saget was known to many as Danny Tanner on the TV series "Full House" or as the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos." Unfortunately, the beloved actor was found dead in his Orlando, Florida hotel room on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, as confirmed by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and reported by TMZ. Since working as an actor, 65-year-old Saget had taken up stand-up comedy and was on tour when he was found unresponsive at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.
Saget was known as the widowed father character of Danny Tanner on ABC's "Full House" for eight seasons until the show's end. On Saget's second-to-last day as the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos" on May 9, 1997, six of his "Full House" co-stars — John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and Lori Loughlin — appeared on the show to support their fellow actor. "Full House" was the show that allowed Saget, along with many of his other co-stars, to become household names for generations of families. Since the end of both shows, Saget had started touring doing stand-up comedy. Saget's comedy was different from his family-friendly "Full House" persona in that it targeted a more adult audience and stood quite in contrast to his character of Danny Tanner. He had just finished a performance Saturday night at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Ponte Vedra Beach, just south of Jacksonville, Florida when he was found dead the day after in his hotel room.
Read on to learn more about the details behind Saget's unexpected death, as well as the actor's career accomplishments before passing.

Bob Saget was born Robert Lane Saget on May 17, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Temple University in 1978, the budding star quickly found his way as an amateur comedian before starting his acting career. Saget's move to Los Angeles, California, allowed him to become a regular face at The Comedy Store, where he indulged in performances that weren't as squeaky-clean as the roles he would soon be known for across America. In 1989, Saget became the first host of the popular TV show, "America's Funniest Home Videos." The role of host matched Saget's character of Danny Tanner on "Full House," which often featured cheesy puns and beloved 'dad jokes.' Both characters featured a family-friendly image and allowed Saget to become a familiar face for generations of Americans who watched both shows. After the most defining shows of his career ended, Saget went back to his roots: stand-up comedy. According to the actor's website, Saget had recently released a stand-up special in 2017 and was on tour with his more adult audience-aimed comedy. On Sunday morning, Saget tweeted his gratitude for his Saturday audience for allowing him to return to an aspect of his career that he loved. The tweet said:
"Loved tonight's show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I'm happily addicted again to this..."
The tweet also featured a selfie of Saget on-stage, smiling. Saget's tour was supposed to continue through 2022, but the unexpected death of the actor on Sunday has made the Ponte Vedra Beach show Saget's last performance.
