A Young Elk Tries Out A Trampoline In Colorado

When it comes to viewing wildlife, Greg Chase and his wife consider themselves to be experts. Where the couple lives in Evergreen, Colorado, seeing animals is nothing out of the ordinary. What is out of the ordinary is seeing one jumping on the trampoline. But, surprisingly enough, that is exactly what Greg saw when he looked out his window one morning over coffee.

It all started when Greg spotted some elk in his backyard. One of them began to investigate the trampoline and stuck its large head in through the netted entrance. Once the head was inside, the elk decided to go on and climb right in for a jump.

Watching the other elk in the group, it almost seemed like they were jealous and wished that they were brave enough to jump in and try it out as well. Instead, they chose to simply walk around the trampoline, trying to play with their friend who was inside.

The one brave elk enjoyed jumping around on the trampoline for a few minutes before deciding that it was time for him to escape. This was when things got a little bit tricky. It seemed that getting out wasn’t going to be quite as easy as getting in! But, after a few minutes of struggling to find the exit, the playful elk managed to leave the trampoline behind and head back to his regular life in the wild.

Thankfully, Greg managed to catch most of the event on video, making it possible for him to share the hilarious and astonishing experience with the rest of the world.

At one point, Greg’s wife commented something about “shooting it” to get it out of the trampoline. Greg assured her that wasn’t an option, and the internet world hasn’t taken kindly to her suggestion.

To protect his wife from criticism, Greg wrote an explanation, telling everyone that she only suggested shooting it so that it wouldn’t suffer if it was unable to get out of the trampoline net. According to his note, a recent experience with a fox that strangled to death in their neighbor’s soccer netting had prepared her for the worst.
