A Selfie of Sean Lennon and James McCartney Shows They Are Copies Of Their Legendary Fathers

When looking at the selfie posted on Sean Lennon’s Instagram showing him holding a guitar with James McCartney, it’s hard to avoid drawing the comparison between the two men and their legendary fathers.

There are some moments that you hope to never forget, and with a little luck, you might be able to capture those time-stopping moments with a photograph. That was certainly the case for a selfie that was snapped by James McCartney and Sean Lennon recently.

The picture, which is worth at least a thousand words, was recently posted to Lennon’s Instagram account, delighting fans that follow him on the social media platform. The caption included with the instantly unforgettable picture simply read “Peekaboo.”

Fans of the Beatles, the seminal pop rock band that took the west by storm during the 1960’s, were especially delighted by the social media post of Sean and James together, as their fathers – John Lennon and Paul McCartney – were both members of the legendary music group. While many photos exist of John and Paul together – particularly during the halcyon heyday of the Beatles, when the pair often recorded together at the studio on Abbey Road – seeing the two sons of these music legends taking a selfie together garnered quite a reaction.

Many fans couldn’t help themselves from commenting that each man bears a striking resemblance to his respective fathers. Indeed, taking a look at the picture makes it hard to avoid drawing the comparison between the two men and the legendary musicians who fathered them. While Sean’s glasses are squarer shaped than the distinctive round frames favored by his father, and James does not have the same color hair as Paul, the family resemblance for either man cannot be denied.

This resemblance is somewhat bittersweet, since John Lennon’s life was tragically ended when he was murdered in New York City in 1980, and the days when he could have posed alongside fellow Beatles member Paul McCartney are long gone. Meanwhile, Paul McCartney’s music career is still going strong today, and he regularly tours the world performing his music.
