A Mistreated Dog Makes Great Recovery

Jun 03, 2020 by apost team

Annie, a Labrador-pit bull mix, was left for dead by her former owners in Oklahoma who had abused her. She was rescued by a clinic in Denver last month and now lives at Pawsitive Restorations Animal Rescue in Aurora, Colorado. Her previous owner has been charged for her crime.

A Big Move

Annie is a very happy dog. Everyone can see from her face shape and brown coat that she's a pit bull. Although that breed can have a reputation for being difficult, Annie is a very sweet dog. Unfortunately, her first family wasn't very kind to her. Based in Oklahoma, they abused her so badly that she was removed from the home.

She was taken in by a specialist rescue group located hundreds of miles away in Denver, Colorado. Her former human, Amanda Dawn Webber, was taken into custody at Woodward County Jail in May. Webber abandoned little Annie when she was seriously injured. The poor dog might have died if no one had stepped in to help.

A Fresh Start

The team at Pawsitive Restorations Animal Rescue has been delighted to watch Annie recover and learn to trust again. So far, it's cost the group over $16,000 to care for her and help restore her to health.

The public has been very supportive of Annie. The team at the rescue has been able to provide her with the best possible care. In footage taken at their facility, she wags her tail happily.

It's safe to say Annie is doing much better than she was in Oklahoma. These days, she moves with confidence and welcomes attention from people. Annie loves to get ear scritches. She barks happily and wags her tail whenever a new friend approaches her. Although Annie has moved on, the people of Oklahoma are still following her story closely. In fact, Annie's a social media star now.

Thousands of people have seen pictures and updates about her journey back to health online. Traditional media are reporting on her story, too. Tulsa, Oklahoma's KJRH has posted updates about her condition. Viewers are always happy to see how well their hometown dog is doing. Everyone there, except for her former owners, has been very supportive of her recovery.
