She had lived a beautiful and wonderful life, busting doors open for women all over the world and making sure to always spread light and positivity wherever she went. All in all, White was the true definition of a trailblazer.

White is best known for her work in a handful of comedic and variety shows on television, as well as a handful of feature films that showed off just how funny she truly was. Remembering Her Legacy

Following White’s death, many people have been honoring the late star with fan tributes and emotional posts, sharing some of the greatest moments of the actress’ life. Fans have also been chiming in with some of their most loved memories of White by sharing clips of their favorite TV show or film moments featuring the star, as well as old pictures and interview clips. An old video of White and Rivers – a comedic pioneer who died on Sept. 4, 2014 – jokingly teasing each other has made its way to the internet, and is continuing to go viral as fans of the late comedians remember just how hilarious they truly were.

According to Yahoo News, Rivers was filling in for talk show host Johnny Carson as a guest host for “The Tonight Show” back in 1983, when White was the featured guest of the night. During their exchange, the two women good-heartedly roasted one another, making joke after joke without so much as a pause in between each line.

The video was previously uploaded to YouTube back in March 2019, garnering more than 280,000 views and plenty of comments. It was most recently shared on Twitter on the day that White died, receiving plenty of love and attention there as well.

Their Humorous Banter

In the now famous clip, White began poking fun at Rivers immediately after she sat down, specifically about how Rivers at the time was recently featured on a magazine cover. “You would think you were the only cover girl in town,” White said. “Did you know that I’m a cover girl?”

Rivers quickly responded, “I’m surprised, but probably yes.” White quickly pulled out the magazine in question, showing off the cover that featured herself alongside a big dog. “And if you dare say, ‘Who’s that other b**** on the cover?’ I will never speak to you again for as long as I live,” White declared. “I am the one in the pink jacket.”

The women continued to throw jabs at each other, all in great fun, such as making fun of the clothes the other was wearing. Rivers added, “Now do you consider yourself – seriously – ‘cause you’re on a cover… not a major publication, but nonetheless…” White cut her off, exclamining, “Not a major publication?” Rivers continued, “For your career, though, that’s a good start.”

Many fans have been expressing their love and gratitude for the funny clip, and have continued to share it across social media, specifically on Twitter. The Twitter user who uploaded the clip said, “You don’t get banter like this on many talk shows anymore.” Since then, fans have left a plethora of comments in the Twitter thread. One person commented, “Joan and Betty just effortlessly throwing shade at each other is so wonderful.” Another said, “You have to be SMART to be witty.”
