It’s hard to believe but this September marks the 10th anniversary of the loss of the legendary Hollywood star Patrick Swayze. A new documentary that includes voices from friends and family wants to show fans another side of what we know of the icon. It’s aptly called “I Am Patrick Swayze.”

It follows the career and private life of Swayze told through interviews of such co-stars as Demi Moore, Jennifer Grey, Rob Lowe, Sam Elliott, and more.

"Patrick has something about him that was very rugged, but he also had that beautiful, gentle, sensuous ability to move,” said Demi Moore in the trailer.

Moore hit on his uncanny ability to move his body to dance, encompass a character, and even ride horses for movies. There is nobody that can entrance an audience with his moves quite like Swayze. Most memorably, his work in “Dirty Dancing,” “Ghost,” and “Point Break” are completely exceptional.

The light went out on this wonderful star at the age of 57 in September 2009, when Swayze lost his battle to pancreatic cancer. He left behind a legacy of work that won’t soon be forgotten, as well as an impact on his family members, brother Don Swayze, and wife Lisa Niemi, both interviewed for the doc.

It seems like audiences will really see a new side of the star we know and love.

“I have these demons that run around in my insides. I've done everything in the world thinking I'm going to get rid of them, and I don't know if I ever will,” a clip in the trailer shows Swayze commenting.

Variety reports that “I Am Patrick Swayze” will be released on August 18 on the Paramount Network, be sure to tune in and watch the trailer below.
