A Jacksonville, Florida family's dog had been missing since August, but they never relinquished hope of seeing him again. Instead of looking for a new dog, the family went to an adoption event find a kitten to add to their crew.

According to First Coast News, as the family was waiting in line at the event, the father was amazed to see a dog that was identical to his missing pooch. It was being leashed up to go for a walk. The dad shouted out that his dog, who was named "dopey," and was the one they had in their possession.

When the dog heard his owner shouting his name, he reacted in recognition. The dog ran over to the man, and he was greeted by the entire family. The dog and everyone in the family were ecstatic to be reunited again.

After the dog had gone missing, he ended up at the Humane Society on the first of October. Strangers had found Dopey, thinking he was a stray. Due to the compassion of the kind people and the humane society, Dopey was able to return to his loving family.

The Humane Society was happy to see the dog return to his family. The family also adopted a kitten that day to give dopey a new pal back at home.
