As hard as it may be to believe, Freddie Mercury wasn't always famous. The Queen lead singer got his start as a humble baggage handler at Heathrow. He passed in 1991 from AIDS-related complications, but that didn't stop his status as a cultural icon.

Queen is getting new life because of the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody that came out this October. Tributes have been pouring in, from the touching to the unusual.

The latest tribute comes from British Airways. They are celebrating what would have been Freddie's 72nd birthday in partnership with the movie. The company recruited current baggage handlers to perform in Freddie's honor. It looks like the staff is having a great time hamming it up!

They wear fake mustaches and "perform" with wheeled suitcases in tow. What better choice of an accompaniment than "I Want to Break Free," that anthem of escape. Pretty fitting for an airport setting, wouldn't you say?

Other staff members and surprised travelers can't help but smile at their antics.

Baggage Manager Adam Dewey talked about the video. He said how fun it was to plan and perform. It's a great way to honor a true music legend.

Heathrow Terminal 5 even celebrated "Freddie Mercury Day" on the 5th of September, Freddie Mercury's birthday. Anyone named Freddie, Fred, Frederick, or Farrokh (Mercury's given name) got access to British Airway's exclusive lounges along with their traveling companions.

Pretty snazzy, huh? Freddie Mercury was all about drama and flamboyance.

Did you enjoy the performance? Was it faithful to Freddie's memory? Send this to your friends and family so that they can also enjoy this incredible tribute!
