A Cappella Group Pentatonix Performs Haunting ‘The Sound Of Silence” Cover

Pentatonix is an American a cappella group that has been grabbing the hearts of people all around the world since 2011.

That is when they won NBC’s The Sing-Off in the 3rd season of the show. The group was given $200,000 in prize money for their amazing efforts.

But more importantly, they were given a recording contract with none other than Sony Music. They have even outlasted the actual show they were discovered on, as it was canceled back in 2014.

Simon & Garfunkel first recorded the classic 60’s hit, “The Sound of Silence.” Since then, many bands have tried to re-record the song, including Pentatonix. The group is made up of five singers who managed to surprise and delight their fans once again with their beautiful and haunting harmonies.

It is a tricky song to perform, but they showed that they knew just what they were doing.

Pentatonix is made up of Scott Hoying, Kevin Olusola, Mitch Grassi, Kristin Malinado, and Matt Sallee. Matt replaced Avi Kapli after he left to strike out on his own in 2017. The group is amazing when it comes to recording different songs with their beautiful vocal harmonies. In fact, what other group can combine basslines, beatboxing, percussion, and riffing together the way that they can!

The 2019 Pentatonix World Tour just announced that tickets are on sale. This talented a cappella group captured millions of hearts when they covered Christmas classics and other modern songs. But, their latest song is really shocking people all over the world.
