Hospitals are challenging places where many people fight for their lives despite many obstacles and unfavorable odds. Nurse Brenda Burstra performs at her highest capabilities in an attempt to send every patient home healthier than how they arrived.

She has been a nurse for several years and has developed a secret weapon for coping in challenging times. This strategy has remained a secret until now.

Brenda was treating a patient in Kalamazoo, Michigan by the name of Robert Olson. He was brought to her hospital after suffering from breathing difficulties. Robert worked harder than most people can even imagine. He only retired when he reached 58 years of age.

Although Robert had suffered breathing trouble in the past, his family knew that something was different this time. His daughter didn't expect her father to come home after this hospital visit.

Although Robert's condition required him to have a pacemaker installed, he couldn't undergo the procedure because of his age. He was placed in hospice care and was looked after by Nurse Brenda. Robert and his daughter were watching a special about Pat Boone as his nurse entered the room.

The two began discussing the show when Robert revealed his affinity for a particular song sung by Pat Boone's daughter. Nurse Brenda happened to know the song and began to sing.

Brenda sang "You Light Up My Life" and was an instant hit with her patient. She admitted to not knowing all of the words, but she promised to return tomorrow with all of the lyrics.

Robert's daughter filmed the duo singing his favorite song. Despite his declining health, Robert gathered enough energy to sing along with his devoted nurse. Within a week, Robert was released from hospice and could return home.

When asked about the incident, Nurse Brenda revealed that she had been singing to clients for 14 years. This moment with Robert was the only one that had ever been filmed. Brenda also admitted that she was not the only nurse at the hospital that went above and beyond for patients.

Robert's daughter posted the video to YouTube. The amazing interaction has gained millions of views and continues to go viral. Viewers who listen closely can even hear Robert trying to sing along with Nurse Brenda.
