A Bird Who Can’t Fly Met A Puppy Who Can’t Walk, And They’ve Become Best Friends Forever

Two unique animals have formed an unlikely bond. This distinct duo consists of a pigeon that can no longer fly, Herman, and a sweet puppy Lundy, that cannot walk. The pair met in 2018 at an animal rescue center, The Mia Foundation, in Rochester, New York, and have been attached to each other ever since.

Lundy is a baby Chihuahua who suffered damage to his spinal cord. He was rescued by The Mia Foundation in New York last month. While at the center, he met Herman the pigeon. Herman has been a resident of the center for over a year, reports CNN. Lundy was first brought to the center after a breeder noticed that the pup was having a hard time walking on his own.

The center's founder, Sue Rogers, said that the pair have been inseparable since their first meeting.

Rogers said that she initially put Herman on a dog bed to have some time out, and then placed Lundy there too so that she could attend to his needs. The two animals started to interact immediately and it was obvious that they were a match made in heaven, according to ABC 14 News. One of their favorite things to do is snuggle up on a fluffy blanket.

Although Herman does not plan on leaving The Mia Foundation, Rogers said the goal is to help Lundy with his mobility issues so that he can eventually be adopted.

Lundy is clearly in good hands. Rogers has extensive experience helping pets who were born with birth defects get back on their feet.

These adorable pictures of Herman and Lundy will melt your heart. After you have checked out these shots, be sure to spread the cuteness to every animal lover that you know. And hats off to Rogers for all of the work that she has put in to help all of these animals in her care.
