A 7-Year-Old Boy Is The Highest Paid Youtuber Making $22 Million A Year Reviewing Toys

Not many kids can tout that they’re millionaires from their very own efforts and featured in Forbes before they even make it to middle school. Ryan Kaji can. The seven-year-old has his YouTube channel to thank for it. Here’s his exciting story.

Ryan has become a YouTube super star with his Ryan ToysReview channel. While his parents help with production and act as advisors, Ryan is the adorable and earnest face and enthusiastic personality viewers just can’t get enough of seeing in action.

It all started back in 2015 when Ryan was just four-years-old. He was a huge fan of toy reviews and knew he wanted to join the party. So, he asked his parents if he could start doing his own reviews on YouTube according to Business Insider. Thankfully, they said yes, and a star was born.

This LEGO Duplo Number Train video from four years ago was Ryan’s first YouTube appearance. It now has over 48 million views, which barely scratches the surface of his success today.

In July 2015, Ryan and his parents experienced their first viral YouTube video. It featured Ryan opening and reviewing about 100 different toys from Pixar’s Cars series. With over 900 million views, it is not even Ryan’s most popular video to date. His most popular video is called "HUGE EGGS Surprise Toys Challenge with Inflatable water slide" and has reached a staggering 1.9 billion views.

In the interview, Ryan’s mom described to The Verge how views just kept doubling every month. Within months of starting, Ryan was outperforming all his own inspirational review channels.

The success translated to billions of consistent views. In fact, it was so successful that Ryan’s mom decided to resign from her job to work full-time on Ryan ToysReview, which releases videos almost daily.

Ryan ToysReview was suddenly number eight on the Forbes annual list of highest-earning YouTube accounts. This year, Ryan ToysReview took the number one spot on the Forbes list by generating $22 million in revenue and beating out heavy hitters on YouTube, such as Jake Paul, Dude Perfect, and DanTDM.

That’s right... the highest-earning YouTube star in the world is seven-year-old reviewing toys and food products for kids. He’s already earned millions from billions of views and has a 23 million YouTube subscriber list, but this kid is far from done taking over the world one toy at a time.

Ryan (and his parents) recently made a deal with a major big-box retailer for his very own line of toys.
