Sharks are apex predators, which means that they have no known predators in their natural habitat. In fact, for most types of sharks, the primary threat is humans rather than sea creatures.

However, nature is filled with surprises, and there are always a few oddities or rare events that take people by surprise. This was the case when a goliath grouper met a black-tip shark off the coast of Florida one summer day.

Goliath groupers can grow as large at 8.2 feet, and they can weigh up to 800 pounds. A black-tip shark is a ferocious beast, but its size pales in comparison to a goliath grouper. In fact, black-tip sharks rarely exceed 5 feet in length.

When a group of fishermen was fishing of Bonita Springs, Florida, one August day, they were thrilled to snag a black-tip shark on their line. In fact, they started recording the footage to post online later.

But it turned out they were not the only ones with their eye on the shark.

Out of the depths of the sea, a monstrous fish appeared, snatched the shark off the hook and ate it in a single bite. The footage shows the whole amazing scene, and it was later used to identify the large fish as a goliath grouper.

You probably know the expression "you had to see it to believe it". Well, this was an event where this saying fully applied. Thankfully, it was recorded, so we can all believe it now.
